Jerusalem Press Release

8 Dec

Press Release

On behalf of British Columbia Muslim Association and Muslim Community of B.C., we strongly condemn the unilateral declaration of President Trump that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. This declaration by the President speaks to the bias in his administration’s approach in resolving the Israeli / Palestinian conflict.

·       The al Aqsa mosque holds great significance for Muslims as it was the first direction the Prophet faced in prayer.
·       We believe the Prophet ascended to the heavens from the al Aqsa mosque.
·       The al Aqsa mosque and its surrounding  area is , according to Muslim tradition , the resting place of hundreds of Prophets of God.

As Muslims we recognise Jews as believers and followers of prophet Moses PBUH and Judaism as faith in Almighty God. We definitely believe that Judaism deplores occupation of the Palestinian land and oppressing of the Palestinian people.

The actions of the state of Israel and the United Sates do not represent faithful Jews and Christians in both countries and in other countries around the world .

The city of Jerusalem (Jurasilim ), therefore, must remain as resemblance of tolerance between Jews, Christians and Muslims.

Sikandar khan .
Vice President, Public Relations and Communication Services.
