Burnaby celebrates Canada Day

People of all ages flocked to the Burnaby Village Museum for the city's biggest Canada Day celebration. The day was filled with music, displays, children's entertainment and free cake.

Just across the street from the museum, the B.C. Muslim Association held its Canada Day event, with a barbecue, kids' activities, tours of the mosque and cake. The mosque was draped in giant Canada Day flag.

39. As-Zumar (The Troops, Throngs) - Makkah

[39:17] Those who avoid At-Taghut (false deities) by not worshipping them and turn to Allah in repentance, for them are glad tidings; so announce the good news to My slaves,

[39:18] Those who listen to the Word [good advice La ilaha ill-Allah (none has the right to be worshipped but Allah) and Islamic Monotheism, etc.] and follow the best thereof (i.e. worship Allah Alone, repent to Him and avoid Taghut, etc.) those are (the ones) whom Allah has guided and those are men of understanding (like Zaid bin 'Amr bin Nufail, Salman Al-Farisi and Abu Dhar Al-Ghifari). Abdullah ibne-Qurt Radiyallahu anhu narrates that Rasulullah Sallallahu 'alaihi wasallam said: On the Day of Judgement, the first thing a slave of Allah will be held accountable for is Salat. If it is found sound and satisfactory, the rest of his deeds will also be sound - and satisfactory, and if found corrupt and rotten, then the rest of his deeds will also be corrupt and rotten.
