The BC Muslim Association (BCMA) was established in 1966 with its head office in Richmond BC. It is one of the largest Muslim organization in Canada serving the muslim community of BC through its branches and chapters. The BCMA is seeking to hire a qualified Imam for their Richmond Jamea Masjid, Richmond BC. This is a permanent and full-time position consisting of 40 hours per week based on a flex schedule as per the local requirements.
Duties include but not limited to:
· Lead five times daily prayers and Jummah salah;
· Organize and deliver islamic lectures to congregation and as per request;
· Solemnizing marriage and burial ceremonies;
· Religious teaching (Arabic and Quran classes);
· Provide counselling services;
· Conduct Dawahs programs to non-muslims;
· Establish open dialogue and communication with members to provide religious guidance.
Requirements:
· Shall have a Bachelor degree in Religious studies or Islamic studies;
· Shall have at least 5 years or more experience as an Imam;
· Shall be a Sunni Muslim and well versed in Shariah and Islamic Juriprudence;
· Preferably have memorized the Holy Quran;
· Ability to interact and guide youth of all ages and public members;
· Shall be computer literate;
· Fluent in English and Arabic (oral and written).
