We can’t go to the Masjid because physical distancing is crucial to slowing the spread of the new coronavirus disease, COVID-19, but we must support financially our local Masajid in this though time.
The parable of those who spend their substance in the way of Allah is that of a grain of corn: It grows seven ears and each ear has a hundred grains. Allah gives manifold increase to whom He pleases and Allah cares for all and He knows all things. (2:261)
This month—Shabaan—is the prime time to start fasting those extra fasts or making up your missed fasts from last Ramadan.
Start now to reflect on portions of the Qur’an to get closer to Allah and understand your responsibilities. Every single time you read the Qur’an, you will uncover more depths of meaning and benefit in this world and the hereafter.
Learn more about the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and follow him by emulating his actions.
We all make mistakes, but alhamdulilah we can always repent. The Prophet (pbuh) said: “All the children of Adam constantly err, but the best of those who constantly err are those who constantly repent.” (Tirmidhi)
This world can only be a better place if we help each other. In return, Allah rewards us in both worlds. The Messenger (pbuh) said, “Allah is in the aid of His servant as long as His aide is in the assistances of others.” (Muslim)
Everyone can be a little bit more kind and work on different aspects of their character. The Prophet (pbuh) used to say: “The best amongst you are those who have the best manners and character.” (al-Bukhari)
With less time to eat in Ramadan, we really need to pay attention to what we eat. Now is the best time to research the nutritious value of the food we eat. While we fast, the food we eat before we start our fast or to break our fast needs to provide the optimal energy so we can accomplish our daily tasks and increase our worship.
Overeating too is hazardous. Ash-Shafi’i said: “”I have not filled myself in 16 years because filling oneself makes the body heavy, removes clean understanding, induces sleep and makes one weak for worship.”
In order to take full advantage of this holy month, we need to prepare ourselves spiritually, mentally and physically. Insha’Allah if we constantly try to improve ourselves, then when we reach Ramadan, we will be able to easily move to the next level spiritually.

Your donations will be used for daily opertations and maintenance of the masjid at all times. Lend unto God a goodly loan. Whatever good you shall forward on your behalf you shall find it with God, as better and richer in reward. [al-Muzzammil 73: 20.]
Together, we can slow the spread of COVID-19 by making a conscious effort to keep a physical distance between each other. Physical (social) distancing is proven to be one of the most effective ways to reduce the spread of illness during an outbreak.
Proper hygiene can help reduce the risk of infection or spreading infection to others:
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds, especially after using the washroom and when preparing food
Prophet, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ), said: A generous person is close to Allah, close to Paradise, close to people, and far from Hell. However, a miserly person is far from Allah, far from Paradise, far from people, but close to Hell. Allah loves more an ignorant man who is generous than a worshipper who is miserly. (Tirmidhi.)
Prophet, sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam ( may Allaah exalt his mention ), said: “This worldly life is for four categories of people: a man to whom Allaah has given wealth and knowledge, so he fears his Lord, maintains ties of kinship with this money, and he knows the rights of Allaah regarding it, this one is truly in the best rank ...” [At-Tirmithi]
If you disclose your charity, it is well; but if you conceal it and give it to the poor, that is better for you. [Allah] will expiate some of your sins. And Allah is well-acquainted with all that you do.” (Surah al-Baqarah:271)
